I can carve into the texture so that it looks as though the tree has a carving in it. Initials in a heart is pretty sweet.
This is the perfect morning wood coffee cup for the Lumbersexual, wood worker, beard enthusiast, woodsman or rustic woman in your life! The Lumberjack mug holds approximately 16z of coffee, tea or beverage of your choice. Yes, you can actually feel the woodgrain texture. Comfortable, roomy handle, manly-mug size, lead-free glaze, dishwasher and microwave safe. Handmade by Meredith in her Fern Street Pottery Studio. See my shop for more handmade originals! Also available: shot glasses/whisky sippers as well as vases. (If you don't see it listed, just ask as I may have it in stock.) No two are exactly alike, but sets are very well matched. This listing is for one mug. Made one at a time, by hand, in the woods.
****IMPORTANT****Why does it take so long?****
This mug will not exist until you order it... at which point I will roll out the slab, carve and stamp in your text, and build the mug and add the carved handle. The mug will then dry for at least a week, possibly two (pottery dries slowly in the northwest!) before I can fire it and fill the kiln. (one day to fire, plus one day to cool). then I glaze- not just your piece, but an entire kiln load of pottery- this takes a few days! Next I load the kiln and glazefire to about 2200 degrees (one day to fire, plus about 36 hours for the kiln to cool). When the kiln has cooled, I sand the bottom, pack and ship your mug! Whew!
**After you purchase, just message me through my website, or email me at meredith [!at] fernstreetpottery.com to let mw know what you would like carved into your mug.
*NOTE: less is better! one or two words will read the best. Let me know if you want them inside a carved heart or not (see picture above).
4-6 weeks production time. Or non-customized Lumberjack mugs are available now.
Lumberjack shot glasses and flask available too!
Woodgrain Vase available! please peruse the shop.
Items will be shipped promptly after payment is made.
Shipping is automatically calculated and added at checkout based on your zip code, the weight and size of the package. This costs you LESS than if I were to add "free" shipping as a blanket cost. Shipping is not one size fits all, and I make every effort to keep costs low. If I am able to combine multiple items into one package I will happily refund any shipping charges that are over-estimated.
Pottery will be shipped within 1-3 days (usually 1-2 days) via USPS. I choose Priority shipping as the cost includes up to $50 insurance (check with your carrier to be sure of current policy)
I use new boxes made from recycled materials. I wrap very carefully with bubble wrap, and air bubble bags for light weight shipping. Packages have a professional label presentation, with tissue inside, ready to be opened as a gift.
